Well, It’s been a while since I put anything up here. On the off chance that someone actually visits, I don’t want them to think I’ve gone away, so I’m posting. I did a nice country music shoot recently, and was really “wowed” when Lorrie Morgan came out in a dress that would make Mae West envious. We have TONS of bikini models around here (Pensacola, Fl) and any of them would dearly love not only to have the opportunity to wear a dress like that, but to wear it the way she did. She owned that dress, and that stage.

Oh, and she can sing as good as she looks.

This show turned out to be kind of special for me. As some of you know, The world lost bassist Ean Evans to cancer back in May, 2009. I had a nice, warm, shot of him with dramatic backlighting that I’d captured last time I shot one of their shows. It’s a nice, quiet shot that I wanted the family to have the opportunity to have. Going to the show, I was thinking of how I could get it into the band’s possession so that they could give it to Ean’s family. Imagine my surprise (and joy) later when the pleasant lady backstage with whom I was sharing idle chat turned out to be Eva Evans! After the standard “three and out” I trekked back to the car, retrieved my portfolio and was able to pull out the print and give it to her right after the show. It made my night.

Rev Theory was amazing. This was the first time I’ve seen them and I was very impressed with their energy. They spend a lot of time up on the edge of the stage, as if they’re trying to be closer to the audience. They rocked hard and sounded great.

Paul Jackson, with Blackberry Smoke, returns to his home town of Pensacola to open for Lynyrd Skynyrd.
I’ve shot these guys 3 times now. They’re really a fantastic southern rock band. Lots of fun with a summer day in the country feel. Be sure to check out their new video, Good One Coming On
